Functionality

The Toyota Prius bike carrier attaches securely to the back of the car, utilising existing bolt-on points under the car boot. Every bike and luggage carrier is supplied with all necessary fittings and bolts and a set of fitting instructions.

The Prius cannot be used for towing. Our bike and luggage rack mounts carry either a ball, square-tube type or other rear carrier frame mount just as with any other car bike rack mounting. The maximum mounting-point loading of the carrying hitch is 50kg – excellent for carrying bikes or externally carried luggage, wheelchair, mower or other item that you don't want to put in to the car boot.

If the carried load obscures the car's registration number plate and indicator lights, a repeater light board is needed and the carrier frame mount package comes complete with a mounting plate for a repeater light board socket. You can then use your existing light board.

Ecologically concerned people chose fuel-frugal cars. But consumers are discovering that some of these car models are not supported with tow bars, which in many cases is the platform for rear mounted bike carriers, a must to pursue an active lifestyle these days.

We bring a solution to this problem for the Toyota Prius in the form of an easily fitted external rear mounted bike rack and luggage carrier. Cars like Toyota Prius are not meant to tow at all. This means that consumers have a problem using them for bike carriers as these mainly are mounted on the trailer ball. Our answer to this challenge is a new bike rack with a mounting system that carries a wide range of mounting point types that is mounted on the chassis of the car on pre-mounted and robust fixing points.
